A silicone one-way curtain valve seals opening below screen at bottom.
The urinal is designed to be installed flat in the wall of a bathroom. The door is normally closed and is opened only for use.
Urine is piped to a storage container either in a basement or to a buried tank outside.
A licensed hauler periodically picks up urine for treatment off-site.
Diverting male urine removes 40% of nitrogen and 27% of phosphorus from house wastewater.
